    Surrounding Areas
    Everett has the 6th largest population in Washington with 103,000 residents. It is part of the greater Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area, which is in the top 20 largest metro areas in the country, and is just 30 miles north of Seattle itself. Housing off base near the base is also available in the following cities and towns, which range in size from 9,000 to 60,000 people: Mukilteo, Marysville, Lake Stevens, Monroe, Snohomish, and Lynnwood. There are also a great many suburbs on the northern side of Seattle which are within a 30-40 minute commute of the naval station, including Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Bothell, and Woodinville. Of course, more Seattle traffic comes into play in these areas which may lengthen the commute. The cities near NW Everett are Everett, Marysville, Mukilteo, Lynwood, Snohomish, Lake Stevens, and Mill Creek.
